CBD is an all-natural hero of the plant world
CBD has exploded in popularity over the last few years due to its all-natural, plant-based benefits. At Freddie’s, we grow and bottle all our own hemp extracts so we can share the benefits of CBD with everyone.
How does it work?
Studies have shown CBD may interact with your body's endocannabinoid system (ECS) and help support a healthy central nervous system.
The ECS is a biological system composed of neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors CB1 and CB2, which are expressed throughout the vertebrate central nervous system and peripheral nervous system. CBD helps modulate and regulate the firing of the CB1 and CB2 receptors.
How do I Use CBD?
Full spectrum vs. broad spectrum
You'll hear these terms wherever high quality CBD is on offer, and both are types of hemp extract that contain CBD plus other beneficial hemp compounds.
Full Spectrum contains all phytochemicals naturally found in the cannabis plant, including CBD, trace cannabinoids, terpenes, and essential oils. Full-spectrum extracts from hemp also come with a negligible THC content which is below 0.3%.
Broad-spectrum CBD contains cannabidiol and all the other compounds within the plant except THC, which is completely removed after the initial extraction.
Hemp oil (hemp seed oil) vs. CBD oil
CBD oil is made by extracting all the phytochemicals from the entire cannabis sativa plant, including flower, leaves and stems. This process captures all the cannabinoids, terpenes and essential oils found in the plant. This allows them to work in harmony and is commonly known as the entourage effect.
Hemp oil on the other hand is derived strictly from the seed oil and does not use any other part of the plant. While hemp oil has its benefits with the essential oils it contains, it has no CBD, terpenes, THC, or any other cannabinoid. Hemp oil products can be found on Amazon whereas CBD products cannot.
Less is more
CBD dosing is an individualized process, and we always recommend consulting your health professional before use. The rule of thumb is to start with smaller to moderate doses and work your way up. Our tinctures have dosage information on the bottle, telling you how much CBD is in each bottle, with single doses ranging from 15 mg to 33 mg.
And, remember, you can always take more or less than one serving at a time.
